Tai Chi for 30 Days


On 26 November 2018, I decided to explore whether Tai Chi Meditation could have any health benefits for me.

This 30 day experiment was something that occurred to me as I was doing my 30 minute cardio-exercise in the morning, running on my elliptical machine. I felt inspired that day, and decided to commit myself to 30 days of practicing Tai Chi, and also to video tape myself doing that everyday.

I've never really had any doubts about the health benefits of Tai Chi, especially since I can see the effect it has had on my dad and friends/family. But then again, there always was this little nagging voice inside of me that seemed to ask, "Does Taichi really have any benefits?"

Well long story short, I came to the conclusion that there are. After just 14 days of deliberate practice, I'm confident to say that, if practiced right, Tai Chi can deliver health benefits.

Here's the contrast between the 1st day and the 14th day. 

For me, the health benefits only occurred when I learnt the importance of stability. Without stability, our bodies can't relax and there really isn't any health benefits so to speak.
